The Villa Pillo Estate, near the beautiful town of San Gimignano, was originally established in medieval times. The entire estate is 500 hectares with 40 of those dedicated to vines. 

In 1989 Villa Pillo was purchased by Americans John and Kathe Dyson, They immediately set about restoring both the estate villa and winery but also the vinestock. This quest for best vine varietal clones, best aspect and soil type has continued unabated and seen quality and reliability continually improved to the point that the estate now regularly receives favourable reviews from the best critics and industry awards.
